The owner installed this immersion heater in September 2024. She was not happy to see the damage caused by the water in such a short time, costing money not just for the replacement, but also the tradesman's charge. Not to mention the inconvenience of not having hot water over the New Year period.
12 March 25. This is what happened TODAY while we were having lunch today. Thank goodness we were at home. After only 10 months of Zakynthos piped water, (that's when it was last changed) this fitting gave up and flooded the bathroom. WE CAN'T WAIT to finish installing our 80 Litre machine and go TOTALLY OFF GRID. Problems like this will NEVER HAPPEN TO US AGAIN!

14 March 25. On the left, the water supplied to our home, compared with our own Generated drinking water. The other contains high levels of impurities including sand and salt, which is why all the plumbing parts and appliances in our house are constantly corroding and need replacing. Going OFF GRID is the answer.

From Air To Water Update

Since I started my business 'From Air To Water' I have been acutely aware that the water problems of 2024 and earlier would no doubt resurface in 2025. Already the reports have started. So at long last, today, after weeks of planning and effort I have finished installing an 80Litre per day water making machine and gone off (water) grid (except toilet. More details on that later). I'm so excited. Instantly my critical water measurements have drastically improved. PPM down from an undrinkable 1582 to 6. EC down from an unfit for at purpose of 3164 to 14. Now the system is flushed, I can drink from the tap FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. Showering is a learning curve as I need so little Shampoo etc. Next week the final part should arrive to connect the water generator to my solar panels, and water generation will then be free. I should say that I have gone from 2 x 9 litre packs of bottled water a day (drinking water, animals water, cooking) at 1.75e each to zero, saving 105e per month, so the machine will pay for itself, and with free electricity to run it, t's a win - win for me AND the environment, as I'll be saving 3,480 bottles every year. And I can't wait for he washing machine to be switched over, also next week. I won't have to contend with smelly sulphur water, and the washing will smell lovely.
